3...2...1...Done.
I recently asked two family members, both successful marketing and brand managing experts, for some feedback on my new website.
“You have a lot of text on the page, but on average a person only spends a couple seconds checking out a site. What is the main benefit you provide?”
I’m going back page by page and shortening and hopefully strengthening each page.
I still believe we should all have a pristine and memorable 30 second bio that we can deliver at any time – in an elevator, website and email. and especially in email subject lines.
Web site text, bio text, press release text – as they say in Texas, “Same difference.”
What would you say or write to tell your story in 2 – 3 seconds? What would you say or write in 2 – 3 seconds to earn you 30 additional seconds or 30 additional minutes?
My best skill is listening attentively.
No one reads press releases anymore.
I never had bugs in my house until the exterminator came.
By the way, the 3 second rule doesn't only apply to food we accidentally drop on the floor. It also applies to email subject lines where the recipient takes three seconds to decide if they're going to read your email now, later or never.
Gustavo Dudamel asked me about you.
