Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words...Just not the words you might think of automatically.
Have you seen this picture on Facebook?
Normally, I am against the abundance of pet and delicious food posts on social media because, I guess, I’m no fun, and I have a few additional reasons.
This picture is really cute and spirit lifting.
But here is what radio news icon Paul Harvey would say is “the rest of the story.”
These are Canadian service dogs, being trained for the possibility that their future owner likes to go to the theater. I don’t know where in Canada this took place, but it was a service dog only show. I assume the cast, crew, musicians and venue personnel donated their time and artistry to the occasion.
I know…a lot of assumptions, but one thing is certain: these dogs are not just being cute and angelic in an unusual setting; they are also humanitarians.
That’s their story.
We talk about ways to break down the barriers between the music, the concert hall environment and the audience. It’s not so much about having “Singles Night at the Symphony” or “Beethoven, Blue Jeans and Beer” nights…it’s through story telling: your story, the composer’s story or the music’s story.
Look at your short and long bio. Is there anything missing?
